Mercedes-Benz C-Class tops 40,000 Australian sales
Sales of the current-generation Mercedes-Benz C-Class exceeded 40,000 in November, cementing the premium mid-sized model’s position as the local division’s most successful vehicle ever.
Mercedes-Benz Australia delivered 519 third-generation C-Class sedans and wagons last month, helping it exceed the milestone figure in its seventh year on the market, having launched in July 2007. C-Class Coupe sales take the total number beyond 45,000 units.
Daimler AG's luxury brand Mercedes-Benz sold a record number of cars in September.
The Stuttgart-based carmaker said it sold 142,994 vehicles during September, up 15.9 per cent on the same month a year before.
It credited new versions of its E-Class and S-Class sedans, as well as increased sales of its smaller models such as the A-, B- and CLA-Class. Compacts increased sales as a group by 68.3 per cent in the first nine months of the year. Read more....

Specialist magazine Auto Action has carried a story that Mercedes-Benz could be just one decision away from announcing it will join the series. Not so, says Mercedes PR chief David McCarthy: "We are not interested in V8 Supercars - we already have a Car of the Future and it's called a Mercedes-Benz." McCarthy went on to emphasise the brand's heavy involvement in formula one and the German touring car championship (DTM), adding that "we don't see any point in racing in a local series with that audience demographic". McCarthy reinforced the stand-off by reminding us that the parent company does not permit its Australian arm to directly participate in motor sport.

30 Years of C-Class- Australia's Most Successful Prestige Car
The thirty year history of the C-Class range has passed a new milestone with in excess of 30,000 of the current generation sold in Australia since launch in July 2007. The 30,000 sales benchmark was passed in February 2012 when the 30,000th C-Class sedan was delivered.
The month of February was also a month of note for Mercedes-Benz Australia when the ‘Car Manufacturers Satisfaction Monitor” conducted by Roy Morgan
Research had Mercedes-Benz as the number one automotive brand with 95% satisfaction matching its January 2012 figure.
